Join us as we look at what it means to KNOW, ABIDE, and WALK in CHRIST JESUS. There is something different about a Christian from the world. That difference is most explicit in the fact that we are filled with a LIFE OF LOVE!

GOD IS LIGHT and in Him is NO DARKNESS at all! In the Light of Christ there is the releasing of all debts and the cleansing power of His blood! Jesus is our ADVOCATE in heaven and the MERCY SEAT for the sins of the whole world! Join us as we continue to look at the message John delivers so that our JOY MIGHT BE FULL!

1 JOHN (Part 1)

Join us as we begin our series on the book of 1 John! This morning we will be looking at Jesus’ choice of John the son of Zebedee to be one of the pillars of His church and main chroniclers of apostolic testimony. John has a thunderous personality and he passionately desires to see the church walk in truth and love. He calls us to see the fullness of life in Jesus Christ. John begins his first epistle by inviting us into the apostolic fellowship so that by extension we will enter into fellowship with the Father and Son with the result of possessing a fullness of joy!

 

RESURRECTION SUNDAY

This morning we will be looking at John’s account of the resurrection. Here we see very clearly that Jesus’ resurrection is not just about the construction of Christ’s renewed individual body, but also the construction of His mystical body—the church, YOU and ME. New life is first experienced at the garden tomb. It is there the resurrected Christ, mistaken as a Gardener, began building His Bride. And He has never stopped! Join us!

“Relationships” (Part 6)

Join us as we look at what the bible has to say about SINGLENESS. Too often those who are unmarried within the church are viewed with suspicion. But Jesus and Paul show us a better way forward. They elevate those who are unmarried and speak highly of them, as they themselves were unmarried. The church collectively needs to view those who are single as people who are given an important gift in the church—whether a gift for a season or for a lifetime. We should not be afraid of embracing the single state and using it as a time to mature and be gifts in important ways to the world around us. God has His eye and approval on those who are single.

Relationships (Part 5)

Join us this morning as we look at what the bible has to say about DIVORCE and REMARRIAGE. Jesus and his apostles were not silent on this issue, and it takes wisdom and context to discern how to submit to and follow their instruction regarding these very sensitive issues. Over the course of this message one will see how Jesus butted heads with other prominent first century rabbis of his day. One will see how Jesus and the apostles are always for restoration of marriage, yet still allowed divorce in certain cases. Even in a person’s sin, brokenness, and failure, God shows us that He is a God of New Covenant, and in the brokenness of divorce He wants to heal us and lead us into healthy celibacy, and in His timing, for those who desire, into godly remarriages.

Relationships (Part 4)

This morning we are going to look at the importance and function of marriage vows. Where they come from, what their purpose is, how they can help couples understand the importance of loving and serving one another, as well as how they tie into a biblical understanding of when divorce might be permissible. Paul instructs husbands to “love…nourish and cherish” their wives (Eph. 5:28-29). These are the words used in traditional vows when entering the covenant of marriage. These qualities are the foundations to a healthy marriage and without them there is a possibility of a marriage breaking down and dissolving. Join us as we dig into what the Scriptures teach about the marriage vows of fidelity, provision, and marital rights.

 

Relationships (Part 3)

One of the most important aspects to a healthy marriage is healthy communication. James’ instruction to be “quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19), certainly applies to marriage. And one of the most powerful and important forms of communication in marriage is the sexual act. Join us this morning as we learn what the Scripture teaches about life-giving communication and sex within marriage!
