Processing the Healing Testimony of Neftali Santiago

Last week Neftali Santiago shared his testimony of being healed of stage four colon and prostate cancer. There were many ‘otherworldly’ things Neftali related that caused some questions and even some skepticism on part of those who listened to the testimony or watched the video. This morning I want to help us all digest his testimony by looking at the biblical basis for what happened in his life. We should always evaluate every word we hear with Scripture. When we do that with Neftali’s we see that there is nothing bizarre or unscriptural about it that should cause skepticism. As Christians we should be people who believe and are exceedingly glad when we hear the testimony of what God has done in lives of others! He wants to do the same in us! Join us!

THE GREATER HANUKKAH

Tonight at sundown Hanukkah begins. In the middle of Hanukkah this year is Christmas. These two celebrations have much more in common than many Christians think. In fact, I can just as gladly say “Happy Hanukkah” as I can say “Merry Christmas.” Why? Join and this morning and find out what Hanukkah, the Magi, and Christmas have to do with one another! “The Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

This morning we will be delving into a marvelous story about a five year old boy. He was the grandson of the King of Israel. And his story gives a beautiful panoramic picture of all of the major covenants that we have been talking about from Adam to David. On top of that, he serves as a picture for all Christians who have been brought into covenant with God through Jesus Christ. His name is Mephibosheth. Join us as we conclude our series on the blood covenant!

THE BLOOD COVENANT (PART 14)

“Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel” (2 Timothy 3:8). The Gospel is not *just* that Jesus Christ has been raised. But that the Christ who has been raised is “of the seed of David.” Why is this so central to the Gospel message? Why does it have such a prominent position in the sermons of the New Testament? THE BLOOD COVENANT (PART 13)

Last week we ended our journey through the Davidic Covenant by looking at the last of the four major prophets—Daniel. While Daniel was the only one to not mention David directly, he was the most explicit about the GLORY and TIMETABLE of David’s coming kingdom. And he was helped in his understanding of the ‘when’ and ‘what’ of this kingdom by an angel … Gabriel. Gabriel of course would appear on the scene again! Join us as we journey into the birth narratives and life of Christ! Marvel at how God is faithful to ALL of His promises. We have a King with an everlasting kingdom! Let us believe it, experience it, and be ambassadors of this Glorious King!

THE BLOOD COVENANT (PART 12)

After Jerusalem was sacked, the temple destroyed, and the people taken into exile, everything looked bleak. Were the promises that God had made to Abraham, Moses, and David no longer true? Was the covenant and sworn oath that he made with David concerning an everlasting kingdom void? No! God sent prophets to remind His people in their darkness that His promises were still true! Those who submitted to His discipline were given new life and assurance that one day the Davidic King would reign for all eternity! Join us!

THE BLOOD COVENANT (PART 11)

The longest speech God gives in Scripture after Mount Sinai is in the book of 2 Samuel. In this speech God is swearing promises to King David. He says, “I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. … Your throne shall be established forever” (2 Sam. 7:12, 16). This covenant that God makes with David plays a central role in Scripture from this point forward. God will be faithful to His sworn promises. As He always is! The Davidic Dynasty truly is everlasting! A good, faithful, and eternal King reigns! Join us!

THE BLOOD COVENANT (PART 10)

We will conclude our study of the Mosaic Covenant by looking at the book of 1 Corinthians. This letter is a good example of how Paul understood the Mosaic law in light of the new covenant and how he drew applications for the church. Paul quotes from capital punishment law, agriculture law, priestly law, as well as the wilderness wandering narrative. He says all was written for the church! Join us!
