HEALING IN CHURCH HISTORY (PART 2)
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Join us as we dig into a very exciting and important moment in the history of the church when it comes to healing—the second half of the 19th century. We will be discussing the lives, teachings, and witnesses of Johann Blumhardt, Dorothea Trudell, Charles Cullis, William Boardman, R. Kelso Carter, A. J. Gordon, and A. B. Simpson. “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrew 13:7-8).

What God has done for us in Christ, is a finished work. It is a perfect work, which perfects you and me. We are righteous, holy and blameless, as He is. We are complete in Him.
The Psalmist describes that “this was the Lord’s doing; and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Ps 118: 23-24)
The Psalmist is describing the day of redemption, when Jesus went to the cross, and worked a perfect work on our behalf. What amazing love! And it is a finished work too, so there is nothing for you to “do” to add to it in any way…
Each day, we can say; “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it, knowing that we are speaking of and celebrating the full provision and supply of the cross – the finished work of Jesus. Rest in His love for you, and rejoice and be glad.

HEALING — SOLDIERS OF CHRIST & CITIZENS OF HEAVEN
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
The Scriptures teach that “our citizenship is in heaven” (Phil. 3:20). And every citizen in this kingdom is called to be part of the army of the Lord. We are called to be “a good solider of Jesus Christ” (2 Tim. 2:3). We are called to “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Tim. 6:11). The citizen of heaven has a greater authority in Christ than many have dared imagine. Most of our eyes are just squinting at kingdom truths. They are barely open. But we are called to live with the eyes of our heart wide open (Eph. 1:20). To know our authority and the rights that belong to us as citizens. As we begin to know and act on those rights, we begin to reign in life through Jesus Christ! We begin to make meaningful blows against the Enemy that is waging a war against our souls and bodies!

HEALING — JESUS IS LORD
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Jesus declared that those who believe in Him would be turned “from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God” (Acts 26:18). When someone becomes new creation in Christ they become a citizen of heaven and they are renewed to their primal God given position of authority. Paul declares, “those who receive God’s overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). What does it mean to reign? What are some of the rights of citizens of God’s kingdom? How does Jesus’ lordship relate to sickness and disease? Join us!

HEALING — BETTER THAN BETHESDA
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
There was a “healing pool” in Jerusalem called Bethesda. It’s five porches were loaded with the blind, lame, and paralyzed. Occasionally an angel would come and stir the water causing miracles. When Jesus visited Bethesda He brought His own healing water. It was always “stirred.” It was the Living Water of the Holy Spirit! (Acts 10:38; John 7:39) Jesus is much greater than the angels (Heb.1). He is much better than Bethesda! And so is His Body, the Church! Join us as we learn some important truths about healing from this powerful story in the Gospel of John!

HEALING — STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Paul wrote, “I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6). This gift is the Spirit. The Spirit who is power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The Spirit who has many gifts He wants us as a community to operate in. Join us as we continue to learn what it means to “stir up” that Gift and begin to walk in everything the Lord has for us. To be fully immersed in the life and the fiery power of God. Of the God who loves us completely with an everlasting love.

HEALING — EAGERLY DESIRING THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
The whole Christian life is one of GIFT. We receive the gift of eternal life (Rom. 6:23). The gift of righteousness (Rom. 5:17). The gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:20). And within the Gift of the Holy Spirit is a multitude of other gifts that we can eagerly desire to have operate in our lives (1 Cor. 12, 14). Join us as we delve into the powerful “Promise of the Father” who wants to fill us to fullness and utilize us as vessels of blessing for a broken, sin scarred, and diseased world. It is always the right time to “pursue love” and “stir up the gift of God” which is in us (1 Cor. 14:1; 2 Tim. 1:6).

HEALING — THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTIMONY AND THANKSGIVING
The importance of giving testimony to the work of God in one’s life is a theme that occurs throughout Scripture. We give thanks to the Father and we testify to his great work and goodness before man. Testimony and thanksgiving should regularly be given for all that God has done and is doing for us. Our salvation, our redemption, our sanctification, our new life, and, yes, our healing! Join us as we dig into the stories of the twelve spies, David and the arc, the woman with the issue of blood, and the man born blind!
